In the beginning of March 2007 MICRO-LINK's employees implemented WiMAX (Worldwide Interoperability for Microwave Access) base station in the city of Šibenik, and conducted measurements in the city and in the wider surrounding area covered with WiMAX signal.
Base station based on WiMAX certified RedMAX system of Redline Communications, is made out of four sectors which provide radio coverage with WiMAX signal in the wide area of Šibenik. Provision of wireless Internet access with broadband transfer speeds, and VoIP (Voice over IP) services are provided.
WiMAX base station was integrated into the T-HT's telecommunication system, and several test users were connected to the WiMAX network. Drive tests with the purpose of verification of accomplished radio signal area coverage were performed, and the commissioning of the WiMAX network following the "turnkey" principle was done after Croatian Telecommunication Agency's successful technical review.
